About the Artist

Cristina Zandomenego is a Venezuelan-born artist and designer whose work is deeply rooted in heritage, craftsmanship, and the natural world. Raised in Caracas among mountains and ocean, and shaped by strong Italian family traditions, Cristina grew up surrounded by creativity — inspired by generations of artists, including her grandmother and great-grandfather, both painters.

After moving to Florida, she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Rollins College, where years of immersive artistic training refined her sensitivity to texture, color, movement, and form. Nature remains her greatest source of inspiration, particularly the rhythm and fluidity of the sea, elements that continue to influence every design she creates.

Cristina spent many years designing jewelry, developing a meticulous eye for craftsmanship and detail. During the pandemic, a transformative moment arrived when she rescued a four-week-old kitten named Lucie Lou, whose companionship inspired an entirely new creative path. From that experience, Lucie Lou Bags was born.

Each handbag is individually designed and entirely handcrafted by Cristina using carefully selected leather and hand-stitching techniques, ensuring that no two pieces are ever alike. Blending artistry with functionality, her work reflects timeless elegance while remaining playful, modern, and deeply personal. Through movement, texture, and individuality, Cristina creates wearable works of art that celebrate the beauty of handmade craftsmanship and the uniqueness of the women who carry them.
